A dream takes root
Our story began more than four decades ago with a dream. At just 27 years old, while serving in the United States Navy, Joseph called his mom, said “ mom I want to buy a property.Having grown up in Massachusetts, his mom discovered a sixty-acre parcel tucked away in the quiet town of Whiting. Joseph purchased the land, never imagining how important it would become.
The land patiently waits
Through 20 years of military service, a civilian career, meeting his wife Emmi, and raising their family, the property patiently waited, untouched and full of possibility. In 2021, Joseph and Emmi, along with their adult children, made a journey to see the land together for the very first time. What they found took everyone's breath away.

The property was everything Maine is known for: peaceful forests, pristine lakes, rivers and streams, fields of blueberries and colorful wildflowers, abundant wildlife, and quiet beauty untouched by time. It was more than land; it was a place where nature could be experienced in its purest form. The Roster family committed to preserving the natural beauty that first captured their hearts, and Orange River Campground was born from the shared belief that some places are simply too special not to share.
